Haridwar is one of the most popular places to travel in all over India. People from all over the country come and visit Haridwar. In Haridwar the Ganga river flows and it is a popular religious place as well due to so many temples and its culture itself.
You can reach to Haridwar by

2. Train
3. Car/Bike/Other Vehicle
Bus stand and Railway station are near to each other.
You can come to Haridwar by Plane too although the airport is about 40km far awy. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport to Haridwar and many tourists come to Haridwar from this airport.
After coming to Haridwar, you will find a lot of Hotels to stay and they come from the cheapest to luxurious hotels. It will fit in budget of all kinds of people so you don't have to worry about that.
I think it is better that you book Hotel in advance before coming here from a hotel booking website. Make sure to check ratings and reviews so you don't have a disappointing experience.
There are lot of rickshaws and autos in Haridwar so you won't have to worry about transportation if you don't come by your own vehicle.
HAR KI PAURI
Har ki Pauri is a famous ghat in Haridwar and is also the most visited place. Here people come to enjoy the flowing river in the ghat, sit, have snans (nahana or bathing), also see Aarti Puja and much more. There are a lot of shops and Hotels nearby where you will find a lot of food and things to buy, and to stay near the ghat in hotels. Although Hotels near Har Ki Pauri are quite expensive compared to other hotels.
Har Ki Pauri gets very crowded, especially during weekends but it is an amazing place to experience any day. Even in a hot weather you will feel coolness coming from the flowing river. People spend their entire day just exploring Har ki Pauri and sitting there. People also like to put their feet inside water during evenings as it is very relaxing. It is something I have done a lot too.
Talking about the stalls nearby you will find a lot of street food to eat and even proper restaurants. You can have shopping here too.
MANSA DEVI TEMPLE
The place from where you can go to Mansa Devi Temple is near to Har Ki Pauri and takes about 20rs to go there. You can walk there too but it will take some time. There is Ropeway too and also walking up the mountain to the temple.
Usually during weekends or holiday season it is pretty hard to get the tickets of Ropeway due to a lot of crows. You may have to wait for up to hours just to get tickets. I had similar experience.
You can also get tickets to Chandi Devi temple from the same place.
In one trolley of ropeway, up to 4 person can sit. The sight you see from the ropeway is so beautiful. You can see Haridwar from up there, not entire Haridwar though but nearby to Har Ki Pauri.
It takes less than 5 minutes to go to Mansa Devi Temple from ropeway. There are a lot of flowers and beautiful art around ropeway as you travel which feels great to see.
After reaching to the temple, you will have to walk some more until you get inside. You will see a lot of stalls selling prasad and puja aarti things. It is usually very crowded inside it, you may face long waiting lines inside it. But it is a beautiful experience to see this temple and the Gods.
CHANDI DEVI TEMPLE
You can go to Chandi Devi Temple from Mansa Devi by Auto who usually ask around 150-200rs to go there. You can do some bargaining and the price can drop to as low as 120rs. Note that this is for TWO PERSON. The distance between these temples is about 5km. It can take up to 30 minutes to reach there.
After reaching to the place from where you go to the temple, you can either go by Ropeway or by walking. It takes about 200rs for two persons in ropeway. Remember that these prices can change anytime, you will find the exact pricing when you will reach there.
You can see Haridwar and Ganga river from up there. It is very beautiful to see it.
The entire place is covered with Mata Ki Chunris and you will hear chants of the Mata everywhere. You will also find shops outside Chandi Devi Temple where you can do some shopping.
OTHER PLACES IN HARDIWAR
There are other places to see in Haridwar too like ShantiKunj which is also an educational center for everyone with no charge. You can stay here, eat, get education at no cost.
There is Bharat Mata Mandir and alongside it there are a lot of beautiful temples you can visit. There are also places like Pawan Dham, Vaishno Devi Temple. You can just stop at anywhere and enjoy it. There is a lot to see in Haridwar.
You can also go to Rajaji National Park and Patanjali Yogpith which is nearby. People also like to visit Rishikesh and Dehradun from Haridwar. You will also find a lot of water parks like Crystal World if you are travelling in summers.
